NARS now has four Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that we hope will spark your interest and get your Ham juices flowing.

The following SIGs are hosted by Yahoo Groups:

We hope that these SIGs will make NARS a more enjoyable and informative club.

SIG activities, news, and events will be announced on the reflector, on the web site and in the newsletter.

Field day 2012

The NARS Field Day 2012 event will be at Burroughs Park again this year. This venue has proven to be a convenient location for most members. As always, we need volunteers to come out an support the effort. This year, Field Day occurs on June 23 and 24.

We are looking for operators, people who can explain Amateur Radio to the public, or folks who just want to come together and meet with like minded amateurs. The goal for 2012 is to not only show that we are ready for the big bang, but that we also are a social bunch. Field Day is not just for the folks who operate but also for those who are interested in conversation, good jokes, and even better food.

If you would like to schedule some time, click the Register for Field Day button at the top of the page and sign up. First come, first served as always.

We still need a CW Captain, a Satellite/6 Meter Captain, and a Power Captain. If you can fill any of thee positions, please contact this year’s Field Day Coordinator, Ron Horton (KF5LFL). Ron can be reached by phone at (281) 890-4038 or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
