Club On-Air Nets
- Hits: 477
On Wednesday evenings, Jerry, KB5VGD, conducts a moderated Q&A beginners net. Topics are of interest to all hams, and the net is open to all hams. You do not have to be a member to participate. This is the place to get some on-air operating experience, ask questions, and learn. The nets are usually on the club repeater, KA5AKG on 146.660, -600 khz offset, PL 141.3. Some evenings, the net is moved to the K5WH repeater on 146.76, -600 offset, PL 103.5.
The weekly HF ragchew net meets on 10 meters (28.444) on Monday evenings from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. CST. At present there is little activity on this net, but keep checking, the propagation gods will smile again. This is a moderated net, but is very informal.
Following the 10 meter net, there is a follow-on informal ragchew on 80 meters. The frequency is usually around 3850, but varies according to band conditions and existing QSOs. Walter, KK5LO, usually posts the frequency for the evening on the NARS reflector. This net is heard over much of the central part of Texas. Some members check in from the hill country and others from north central Texas.
